Graduated in Environmental Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology of Nova University of Lisbon, Marlene Antunes has dedicated the last 15 years to the water sector in Portugal.  
Her professional experience began in the area of consulting, having developed plans, studies and projects in the area of supply and sanitation, both nationally and internationally. 
In 2018, she joined BEWG (PT) group, assuming the functions of business developer, integrating the team responsible for development of strategic proposals for companies of the group, in parallel with the technical and engineering support to the various contracts in the water sector held by the company. Among the various projects in which she participated, the international contracts won in Angola stand out, which marked the beginning of the group's internationalization process.
In 2021 she completed the course "Advanced Program Renewable Energy in the Water Sector" of the Academy of Free Waters of EPAL, which allowed her to acquire, in an aggregated and coherent way, technical and management skills in the field of various renewable energies, namely photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind, hydro and biogas, and in the development of energy transition and decarbonization strategies in the water sector and in general.

With the creation of the company Be Watts in 2022, she took on the responsibility of coordinating the energy projects promoted by the company. 
With the broad vision that characterizes an environmental engineer, Marlene believes that the synergies of the different sectors of the environment, mainly water - waste - energy, have potential for innovation and pave the way for the sustainable society we want to develop and leave for future generations.
