Basílio Simões is a serial entrepreneur, Vice-Chairman and Co-founder of Cleanwatts, Co-founder of ISA - Intelligent Sensing Anywhere in 1990, that became an award-winning international high-tech company, listed in NYSE Alternext Lisbon (ALISA), specializing in IoT and smart metering for Oil & Gas, Energy and Environment industries,
Co-founder and investor of VPS - Virtual Power Solutions in 2014 and of Energia Simples and ESCO startup in 2015, focusing in being a relevant player on energy transition worldwide.
With the goal of developing an Innovation Technological Ecosystem and sharing his knowledge concerning funding and growing high-tech international companies, he became a Business Angel coordinating the Center Business Angel investment club and managing seed capital and early stage funds.
He is also Invited Professor on Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation at the Science and Technology Faculty of the University of Coimbra.
He holds a PhD in Technological Physics and 30 years’ experience in the areas of electronics, telemetry and remote control (Internet of the Things), innovation management and entrepreneurship. He is author or co-author of several dozens of scientific publications in international journals of reference, managed several European projects and developed and patented several innovative remote management systems.
